In the early 19th century, having a Television set is fine but these days it’s not about having any kind of Tv. It’s about having a TV that will change your viewing experience. A TV set that can also change the outlook of an interior space and make visitors say wow!

For many people these days who want to buy a new Tv for their rooms, their aim is to buy a large size Tv. Of course, you will definitely have a more visual experience from a large size Tv but size is not the only factor to think about. So,before you buy a Tv set,we will look at important factors you should look at before you make that purchase.
Most people are also confused as to the type of Tv they want to purchase. Since they hear words like LCD,LED,OLED,PLASMA TV and the likes.
We will quickly look at these types of Tv before we talk about how to make the right choice.

LCD TVS-: LCD means Liquid Crystal Displays. Tv’s built with these feature are pretty common to find, and are less expensive. They have limited viewing angles, what this means is that a person sitting right at the side of the screen might not really see anything. Asides that, they’re energy efficient and usually have nice displays but are suitable for simple use. However, if you’re trying to play high defination games, they might not be the best choice.

LED TVS-LEDS are basically LCD TVs that use LEDs as a backlight for the liquid crystals in the displays. What does the term LED stand for? LED means light emitting diode. These HD(high definition) and Ultra HD sets use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to illuminate the screen . Many of these TVs can dynamically light up specific portions of the screen and dim other parts to better represent a mix of light and dark areas in a scene — A feature known as active dimming or local dimming.Due to this technology, they tend to be more expensive. Also LED TVS consume less power compared to other TV types.

PLASMA TVS-:Unlike LCD tvs these type of Tvs they often have a wide viewing angle, so it’s easier for multiple people to sit around the screen and still see a clear picture from where they’re sitting. They also have a high color quality and high contrast ratio as well which produces a high overall image quality . If you’re planning on getting a relatively big TV and are going to focus on high-quality cinematic viewing, a plasma TV might be for you. They aren’t the brightest TVs though, as ambient light can become a particular problem for plasmas.

OLED TVS: OLED means Organic Light Emitting Diode. OLED TVs go one better than full-array LED-LCDs with a few dozen lighting zones. These TVs are different from LCD TVs. OLED TVs use colored LED lights to create the image, so they save on power, though not always as much as LED TVs. They also suffer from some of the viewing angle problems that effect LCD TVs. but they create a high-quality and bright image, hence they may be best choice for those planning on watching TV a lot during brighter hours of the day. They also have high contrast ratios, like LEDS but are made with black pixel technology and since black pixel emits no light, these tvs create great cinematic visuals. Tvs with OLED screens are very costly to make, so you’ll have to spend more to enjoy its features
Since we have seen the different types of Tv’s we have, by now you probably have figured out what you want but lets look at the features we will really need.
Go for Tv’s with the following features

      1-Screen Size/viewing angle
Screen size matter accross any type of Tv you choose. This is dependent on the number of people in your family and how large the interior space is. For a typical living room, you can go for a Tv that is between 55 and 65 inches as the display will be visible to all. Also you need a Tv that anyone can view at any angle in the living room.Studying the types of Tv listed above will surely guide you when making a decision on this.
N.b There are some Tvs with Curved Screens. Asides from the fact that they are expensive, these might be suitable in the office but not at home. The reason is that curved screens distorts the image and reduces the available side-viewing angles, thus limiting the best view to a few people sitting at the center. LED models also are less likely to produce uniform brightness across the screen. So, you don’t really need a curved screen Tv at home

      2-High refresh rate
The refresh rate is measured in Hertz (Hz) this describes describes how many times per second a picture is refreshed on the screen. if a Tv has a 60 hz refresh rate,(which was the norm before)it means that an image on its screen is refereshed 60 times per second. In scenes with rapidly moving objects, images may look blurry or jittery, particularly on LCD HDTVs. So, to create a more solid picture, manufactures upgraded to producing displays of 120 hz refresh rate. The bottom line here is that you should not buy a Tv with a refresh rate less than 120 hz

      3- Smart TVs
Smart Tvs these days have a touch screen technology like your mobile phones. In addition, some sets come with built-in Wi-Fi for connecting Internet-based services for streaming videos , downloading apps, playing games or even connecting to social media sites. The latest models can even search for content across streaming services and live programming on cable and satellite tv

      4-HDMI ports and Connections
Go for Tvs with more HDMI ports as you could connect your Tv with your laptop, a sound system and more devices.Manufacturers looking to save costs may offer fewer HDMI plugs at the back. These ports can get used up quickly. Ensure the Tv support HDMI 2.0 to accommodate future Ultra HD sources.
      5-Good audio system
Sound is very important if you want a good viewing experience.Even the finest, most expensive HDTVs could have poor sound. That is why you need to check for the sound quality of the new tv you want to buy. Though you can get a sound bar it is good the sound quality of the Tv is okay on its own and should be able to satisfy your hearing experience before a third party device.

      6-Extended Warranties:
This is why it is good to buy a new Tv from a reputable store. If you go for a fairly used Tv and it develops a fault within a year of purchase, you will bear the cost but if you buy from a trusted wholesaler or a reputable firm, you will enjoy a one-year warranty. In addition some brands offer after sales service and assist in installation as well.
In these ever changing world, expect new features as brands will come up with various names and technology to attract consumers but with these tips in mind, no doubt you will be better equipped when you are going for your next Tv purchase.
